About the Art Center

Fairmount Art Center, Art Mark LLC  founded in 2004 and Queen Village Art Center, Brush Mark LLC founded in 2011 are resources for creative education for all ages, serving the greater Philadelphia area.

We offer a wide range of program for adults and children.  Programs include weekly classes, one-time workshops, parties for all ages, single-day camps whenever schools are closed, week-long summer camps, a full after school program with walking pick up at area schools, private lessons, art therapy, music classes, and much more!

Our goal is to develop dynamic, creative thinkers while fostering joy for arts and self expression. We believe that what occurs during the process of art making is paramount. We strive to balance an approach that supports creative problem solving with age-appropriate skill and concept development.

Our directors, faculty, and staff are passionate about the important role art plays in learning, life, and community and we work exhaustively to bring you outstanding, exciting, and creative opportunities grounded in current educational theory. The Art Center’s highly skilled faculty offer diversity of experience with noted accomplishments as professional artists and educators. Students young and old experience a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters joy for creative learning! Let’s Get Creative!

About the Art Center’s History

We began in a tiny studio, perched atop a coffee shop in Fairmount, in 2004. Students overlooked our humble beginnings while soaking up our creative approach. By 2007  the need for a bigger studio was obvious and we renovated a storefront around the corner that fit our needs perfectly.  The fact that it was directly behind the art museum’s Perelman Building was icing on the cake! Over the next 4 years we fine-tuned our programs and teacher training, while becoming a trusted member of Fairmount and the greater-Philadelphia community for creative learning!

In 2011 we developed a new website with streamlined class registration and announced plans to launch a 2nd location in another fabulous Philly neighborhood! Queen Village Art Center, launched Fall 2011, after a complete rebuild of a 3000+ sq ft space at 514 Bainbridge Street, thoughtfully designed by Salerno Ziegler Architects.  Queen Village Art Center is meeting the mission of delivering excellence in art education through a full spectrum of programs modeled upon our experience in Fairmount!
